Form setter M/F

Works at the very heart of construction.

Eric, form setter
I like my work and the atmosphere of building sites. If you’re a form setter you’d better like being in a group, it would be no fun doing it alone! I am autonomous, I am responsible for my own formwork and I am proud when I successfully do something complicated. And I know that my career can develop internally – it’s possible to build a career at Bouygues!

Your main duties

You position formwork, assemble shoring and scaffolding and install safety systems, on both building   and civil works sites.
Your main job is to pour the concrete, vibrate it and then remove the formwork after checking that it has hardened. You can also be responsible for installing precast concrete elements, adjusting them and grouting them in, depending on the type of site. You must carry out your work without ever neglecting safety rules.

There are two specialised trades in the form setting profession: metal form setters work with metal shuttering panels, while formwork carpenters produce complex formwork to measure with timber.

Your future path

All-purpose form setter, finishing mason, tracer, foreman.

Transfer to a career as a supervisor.

Your profile

You have a vocational high-school qualification or significant experience in form setting. You like working outdoors and are proud of constructing high quality buildings and structures. We are looking for people who show team spirit and professionalism.
